We are committed to widening participation at the Institute and to higher education in general. We therefore reserve the right to make differential offers to applicants from socio-economic groups that are under-represented in Higher Education.
Various outreach initiatives and events are run throughout the year to encourage students from all backgrounds to consider a degree in the history of art at the Courtauld.
Our Policies
Events
In the summer, we run a Summer University for year 12 students, currently studying at a UK state school or FE college, with an interest in finding out more about Art History and the possibilities of studying the subject at degree level.
Reserved for Widening Participation students, this one day study day is designed for Art, History, Literature, Languages or other Humanities students thinking of applying to Higher Education.
We offer one day Outreach Art History Study Days to secondary schools, sixth-form or FE colleges in England. Tailored for year 12 students (or equivalent), our Ourtreach Study Days introduce the subject of Art History to any student interested in Art, Language or Humanities.
Our programmes are tailored to suit all ages in formal education with a particular focus on secondary schools, especially students preparing for GCSE and A-level
