Behind the scenes at The Courtauld Gallery

In 2009 the Courtauld Gallery worked with specialist arts TV channel Sky Arts to raise awareness of The Courtauld’s outstanding collection.

Sky Arts produced a short programme on The Courtauld Gallery, giving unique insights behind the scenes of a world-renowned art gallery. The film crew spent two days at the Gallery, meeting Ernst Vegelin, the Head of The Courtauld Gallery, our curators, conservators and students. Sky Arts were also given access to The Courtauld’s painting store, where they filmed Degas’s Two Dancers on Stage being carefully unwrapped and examined.

This film can be watched online and was broadcast regularly on Sky Arts 1, Sky Arts 2 and Sky Arts  HD until July 2009.
