PICTURES AND PLOTS: THE APPEARANCES OF FANTASY
Marina Warner

In a unique tour of the exhibition, prize-winning writer, Dr Marina Warner will explore the ways artists realise the imaginary worlds of fairy tales and other stories. Dr Warner is Professor in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex, where she teaches courses on fairy tales and other forms of narrative.

Conversations on Curating
Wednesdays 1.15-1.30pm

The Conversations on Curating talks are delivered by the curators of this exhibition - students on the MA Curating the Art Museum programme at The Courtauld Institute of Art. A pair of students conducts each talk, inviting visitors into a conversation about how the exhibition came to be. They will reveal their behind-the-scenes experience of bringing together this fascinating range of historical and contemporary works and offer insight into the curatorial process. Each talk in this series will start at 1.15pm and last approximately 15 minutes.

Spotlight Talks
Fridays 2.00-2.15pm

The Spotlight Talks are delivered by the curators of this exhibition: students on the MA Curating the Art Museum programme at The Courtauld Institute of Art.  Focusing on the unique contribution of a single artist, these talks will explore the works’ history and discuss their context within the show. Each talk in this series will start at 2.00pm and last approximately 15 minutes.

Sunday Tours
Sundays 4.00-4.45pm

The Sunday Tours are conducted by the curators of this exhibition: students on the MA Curating the Art Museum programme at The Courtauld Institute of Art.  A pair of students will invite you to explore the diverse range of art works – both historical and contemporary – that has been brought together for this show. In addition to learning more about the prints, drawings, sound and video work on display, you will come away with a deeper understanding of the curatorial process. Each tour in this series will start at 4.00pm and last approximately 45 minutes.
