Narrating the Desert Island
Friday 7th June 2013
A talk by islands scholar Barney Samson, at the Kenneth Clark Lecture Theatre, The Courtauld Institute of Art.
Barney Samson is a PhD student researching 'The Desert Island in Literature', at the University of Essex.
"The desert island, through its use across centuries of art, entertainment and literature, comes with a wealth of representational baggage. This illustrated talk will interrogate the relationship between artist, audience and island, from Robinson Crusoe to Lost."
