Holiday Workshops
These all include a visit to the Gallery and an afternoon art activity.
Activities for 5-9s run from 10.30am to 2.30pm, those for 10-15s from
10.30am to 4pm. Packed lunches and overalls required!
To book places send a cheque made payable to 'university of london' together
with the names and ages of children who require tickets and a SAE to the
Education Officer, Courtauld Gallery. Friends of the Courtauld receive
reductions for all workshops.

Thrills with Quills
Wednesday 25 October Suitable for ages 5-9
Thursday 26 October Suitable for ages 10-15

We shall look
at different kinds of art in the Gallery, and then try
using different painting and drawing materials including quill and reed
pens, graphite, chalk and charcoal.

A chance to visit the exhibition of icons from St Catherine's monastery in the Sinai desert followed by an opportunity to try out egg tempera and make our own paintings of the Christmas story.
Activities for Families 2000
Activities
for families take place on the first Saturday of each month. These events
start at 11am and end at approximately 12.30pm and are free for all children.
One adult will be admitted free to the gallery with each child. The drop-ins
are suitable for 6 - 12 year olds and there is no need to book.
Portraits
7 October
A chance to find out about several of the Gallery's portraits including
a self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh, followed by dressing up activities.
Draw Draw Draw
21 October
As part of the Big Draw, there will be an extra drop-in for children
who will find out more about drawing materials and have the opportunity
to try their hand at using quills, reed pens, chalk, graphite and pastels.
This Drop-In will be Sign Interpreted (SSE).
Mixed Up Monsters
4 November
We shall be looking at animals in paintings and statues and then mixing
up their body parts to make moving monsters.
Celebrate!
2 December
Look at party paintings and then invent your own party outfit.
