CAFS welcomes Professors Fernie and Atkinson
Conrad Atkinson who has been Professor of Art at the University of California at Davis since 1992, has been appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor to the Courtauld Institute of Art for 2002, the first practising artist to be invited to take up this position. Conrad Atkinsons work at the Courtauld will be followed later this year by an exhibition of recent works at the Wolverhampton City Art Gallery and Birmingham City Art Gallery. With Atkinson art and politics have always mixed and over several decades he has sought to introduce contemporary events and problems into his work.
The Reunion promises to be a fascinating evening — do join us, former students!
We need your books! The Annual Book Sale will open on 24 June 2002 at 4.00pm and we are looking for books of all kinds, in good condition, although art history books attract the most interest. We also have a good demand for catalogues, periodicals and paperbacks. The Book Sale helps to support the Courtauld News so please do phone us if you have interesting material which you no longer use. Deliveries of books are welcome at the Institute from the beginning of June and please mark your deliveries with your name and address so that we can thank you!
