Childrens Workshops
Saturday Drop
In
Activities for families take place on the first Saturday of each
month, with extra dates during school holidays. These events start at 11.30am
and end at approximately 12.30pm and are free for all children. One adult
will be admitted free with each child. The drop-ins are suitable for 5-10
year olds and there is no need to book.
Spot the Season
Saturday 4 May 2002
Discover the different ways in which artists have painted seasons, by
exploring paintings by Gauguin, Seurat, Cézanne and Renoir followed
by a practical art activity. Free.
Join the Omega Workshop
Saturday 1 June
Look at some of the unusual designs that were made by a group of artists
at the beginning of the 20th Century, then design your own room.
Brilliant Beasts
Saturday 6 July
Discover which animals have been artists favourites by looking at
prints and drawings in our summer exhibition ' Captured on Paper :
Animals in the Prints and Drawings Collection, followed by the
chance to design and make a large animal mask.
Monet
Saturday 3 August
Who was Monet? What did he paint and how did he paint? Find out by looking
closely at his paintings, then try creating your own Impressionist painting.
