Michael Arthur, Secretary and Registrar

Michael
Arthur the new Secretary and Registrar took a law degree at Kings College,
London. He then worked at Imperial College, first in the Students Union
as a legal and welfare officer, then looking after halls of residence
and finally in the secretariat. In 1988 he moved to LSE in where he
had responsibilites for developing the Schools physical estate, both academic and residential
as In 1998 he moved to the University of Southampton where he was Director
of Corporate Services, with responsibilities for legal and constitutional
matters. Since he left university he has qualified as a Chartered Secretary,
achieved membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
and a masters degree in law — all as a result of part-time study.
He says, "I am absolutely delighted to be here and look forward
to putting my experience and qualifications to good use in helping this
wonderful institution in the exciting times that lie ahead."
