The Courtauld Institute of Art is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Caroline Campbell as Curator of Paintings at the Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery. Dr Campbell took up the position on 21 March 2005 on leaving her post as Assistant Curator of Renaissance Paintings at London’s National Gallery.

She gained a First Class BA (Hons) in Modern History at University College, Oxford, in 1994, and she was awarded an MA in History of Art (Italian Renaissance) from the Courtauld, and subsequently a PhD in 1999, for which she wrote her dissertation on domestic paintings in 15th century Florence.

She has had articles published in many scholarly journals. Most recently she has contributed to the catalogue of the exhibition Bellini and the East, at the National Gallery and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
