PETER LELY: A LYRICAL VISION
11 October 2012 - 13 Januray 2013
This exhibition was the first to examine a remarkable but forgotten group of early paintings by Petery Lely devoted to ambitious paintings of figures in idyllic landscapes.
Organised around The Courtauld’s enigmatic The Concert, the exhibition included an important group of paintings loaned from historic private collections. This was a chance to see some of the most beautiful and seductive paintings made in 17th-century England.
