Summer School 2012
General Information: Fees & Booking, cancellation policy, insurance
The Summer School welcomes everyone over the age of 18. We regret that new child protection legislation prevents us from including participants under the age of 18.
The fee is £435 for the majority of courses in the Summer School. Where courses include visits outside central London the fee is £460. For a few courses the fee is £485 because close work with objects necessitates smaller groups and the purchase of specialist equipment and materials or because they require extensive travelling by private coach. The fee includes all classes and gallery visits, tea and coffee each day, admission fees, travel for visits outside London, a gallery tour, parties and free access to The Courtauld Gallery all week; cost of travel within London is not covered. Any profits made from the Short Courses are used to support the work of The Courtauld Institute of Art in order to advance the study of art history and conservation.
Full payment is due at the time of booking; we strongly advise booking early as the courses are very popular. The booking form can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
Gift vouchers for all Courtauld Short Courses are available on request should you wish to make a gift to someone; they make an unusual and memorable present.
If you need to cancel your place, we will refund the full fee (minus a £40 cancellation charge) provided that you cancel at least 8 weeks before the course commences. If you have to cancel after that date but more than 4 weeks before the start of the course, we will refund 50% of the course fee. For cancellations less than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course, no refund will be payable.
We do whatever we can to ensure that courses take place as advertised but we reserve the right to make changes or cancellations. In the unlikely event that we cancel any course, we will offer you full repayment of your fee.
Unforeseen circumstances may force you to curtail or cancel your trip to London. We strongly recommend that visitors to London take out travel insurance to cover resulting expenses or those incurred due to lost or stolen property.
Unless your country of residence has a reciprocal arrangement with the UK that entitles you to free medical care, we urge you also to take out medical insurance to cover you during your visit to London.
