The Summer School welcomes everyone over the age of 18.  We regret that child protection legislation prevents us from including participants under the age of 18.

We have maintained the course fees of 2013, and have further simplified the fee structure.  The fee for most courses in the Summer School is now at the lower level of £455.  Where travel outside of London is integral to the course timetable (course 1), we have not, as previously, added a fixed amount for rail travel to the fee, but leave students to make their own arrangements, as many have rail discount cards and some prefer to drive.  The fee for two courses is £475, because they require smaller groups for close work with objects and/or the purchase of specialist equipment and materials (courses 3 and 13).

Course fees include all classes and gallery visits, tea and coffee each day, admission fees, a gallery tour, parties and free access to The Courtauld Gallery all week; cost of travel to and from The Courtauld and  within London is not covered. Any profits made from the Short Courses are used to support the work of The Courtauld Institute of Art in order to advance the study of art history and conservation.

Full payment is due at the time of booking; we strongly advise booking early as the courses and tours are very popular. Please use the booking forms provided; these can also be downloaded from The Courtauld’s website.

Gift vouchers for all Courtauld Short Courses/Tours are available on request should you wish to make a gift to someone; they make an unusual and memorable present.

If you need to cancel your place, we will refund the full fee (minus a £40 cancellation charge) provided that you cancel at least 8 weeks before the course commences. If you have to cancel after that date but more than 4 weeks before the start of the course, we will refund 50% of the course fee.  For cancellations less than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course, no refund will be payable.

We do whatever we can to ensure that courses take place as advertised but we reserve the right to make changes or cancellations.  In the unlikely event that we cancel any course, we will offer you full repayment of your fee.

Unforeseen circumstances may force you to curtail or cancel your trip to London. We strongly recommend that visitors to London take out travel insurance to cover resulting expenses or those incurred due to lost or stolen property.

Unless your country of residence has a reciprocal arrangement with the UK that entitles you to free medical care, we urge you also to take out medical insurance to cover you during your visit to London.
