Classicists, Byzantinists and Medievalists at The Courtauld are active in publishing their own and others' research. Fuller details of their recent individual publications can be found on staff members' pages. Volumes 1 and 3 of Courtauld Research Papers are in the medieval area (Art, Politics and Civic Religion in Central Italy, 1261-1352, ed. Joanna Cannon and Beth Williamson (2000) and Westminster Abbey: The Cosmati Pavements, ed. L.Grant and R.Mortimer, 2002). The Journal of the Warburg and Courtauld Institutes regularly includes articles based on MA or PhD research, such as those by Giovanni Freni (2000), Donal Cooper (2001) and Luke Houghton (2004). Staff are currently working on several book projects, and recent publications include John Lowden’s The Jaharis Gospel Lectionary (2008) and Art and Nature: Studies in Medieval Art and Architecture (2009), co-edited by Laura Cleaver and Kathryn Gerry, with Jim Harris.
