In relation to the annual theme for 2008/2009, History of art & aesthetic theory: definition, interaction and synergies, the German Centre for the History of Art in Paris will award several research fellowships for doctoral candidates for the period of 12 months and one post-doctoral fellowship for the period of 24 months. The scholarships are destined for those with a university degree (MA and/or PhD)  in history of art, philosophy, or other comparable disciplines, conducting research in the theory, philosophy and aesthetics of art with particular emphasis on German and/or French contributions.  Furthermore, irrespective of the annual subject, promising young art historians researching the above subjects are invited to apply for scholarships.

 

All candidates are requested to send in the standard application documents (curriculum vitae, copies of degree certificates, a list of publications, two reference letters from university/college lecturers) as well as a project outline (max. 3 pages, plus timetable and bibliography) by June 30, 2008, to the following address:
