Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 October

The party explored the art, architecture and culture of Warsaw with Dr Deborah Swallow (Märit Rausing Director at The Courtauld), Dr Jerzy Kierkuc-Bielinski (Courtauld alumnus and Exhibitions Curator at Sir John Soane’s Museum) and The Courtauld's Professor Paul Crossley.

Sites visited included the Royal Castle, St. John's Cathedral, Ujazdowski Castle, the Lazienki Palace, the Myslewicki Palace and the National Museum in Warsaw, as well as locations outside of the city to Nieborow, Arkadia and Czerwinsk. One of the highlights was an evening Chopin Concert at the beautiful Palace on the Water.

Staying at the art nouveau Bristol Hotel in central Warsaw, we also explored local restaurants and enjoyed the local cuisine including pierogi (dumplings) and vodka!
