The Friends of The Courtauld is a membership charity which has played an important role in the life and work of The Courtauld for over 40 years. It is an independent charity funded largely through the membership dues and donations of over 2,000 Friends and Samuel Courtauld Society members, who share a passion for art history and who generously support a wide range of activities at The Courtauld.
The Friends’ Annual Grant
Each year the Friends make a significant grant from membership dues, donations, gift aid and investments to The Courtauld. This year (1 Aug 2014 – 31 July 2015), the Friends charity is allocating over £200,000 to a wide range of essential projects at The Courtauld including:
Two exciting exhibitions: Egon Schiele: The Radical Nude, which received unanimous acclaim, and Goya: The Witches and Old Women Album which The Independent believes will be one of “the highlights of the cultural year”
Eight post-graduate scholarships supporting talented art historians and conservators like Svitlana Biedarieva, PhD candidate:

The post of Dr Maureen Cross, Lecturer in the Conservation & Technology Department, and newly appointed Associate Dean of Student Affairs

gallery by Courtauld students and alumni teaching art history to young
adults from disadvantaged backgrounds
