I contribute to The Annual Fund because I know that The Courtauld offers a unique education in the history of art to students of extraordinary potential.

Professor Paul Hills, Courtauld alumnus MA 1971 and PhD 1976 and faculty member

The ability of The Courtauld Institute of Art to provide the highest standards of teaching, research and resources relies on our financial well-being.

We are dependent on philanthropic gifts to provide 34% of our £10million budget with the government providing 35% of our budget, 20% from student tuition fees, and 11% from other income. Of our philanthropic gifts, endowment and major grants make an annual contribution – this figure also includes £900,000 of smaller donations which must be found each year to enable us to deliver to the highest standards and develop the discipline of art history.

The Courtauld Annual Fund supports a range of activities from student travel bursaries and the latest library books to conservation and the galleries, making a difference to students and academics alike. See how the fund was spent in the academic years:

All Annual Fund gifts are eligible for HEFCE matched funding until 31 July 2011.
