Tax Effective Giving
Gift Aid
UK taxpayers
For individuals who are UK tax payers, using Gift Aid means
that for every £1
you give, we get an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue, making
your donation go further. This means that £100
can be turned in to £128 through
the Gift Aid scheme. Imagine what a difference this could
make, at no extra cost to you.
Most gifts by individuals to The Courtauld are eligible for
Gift Aid including Annual Fund, Friends and Samuel Courtauld Society memberships. All gift forms on this site include the option to give through the Gift Aid scheme, as does the donate online facility. Where your gift might be eligible for Gift Aid you
will see this logo.

Then just sign [or if giving online check the box] of the
Gift Aid declaration – it
is as simple as that.
Higher rate tax payers
If you are a UK higher rate tax payer you can claim tax relief
through your tax return of 18% - the difference between the
standard rate of income tax (22%) and the higher rate (40%).
