Sophie Trevelyan Thomas

The Courtauld is privileged to be working with the family of Sophie Trevelyan Thomas, a Courtauld alumna who died tragically in November 2013, to raise money for a permanently endowed scholarship in Sophie's name.

The Sophie Trevelyan Thomas Scholarship will cover the tuition fees for one MA student each academic year, in perpetuity. This will be awarded each year to a student who is taking an MA in any module from the Medieval or Renaissance period, thereby reflecting Sophie's interests.

We are seeking to raise a minimum of £125,000 by June 2014. This will enable the first student to be awarded the scholarship in June 2014 to start in September 2014. Furthermore, if we are able to raise £250,000 this could potentially fund two scholarships.

Generous pledges from both Sotheby’s and The Courtauld mean that the appeal has already raised over £30,000. However, we still have a long way to go.

Please help us reach our goal by donating as generously as you can.
