The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world.
The Courtauld is located in Somerset House, one of London’s greatest public buildings, which is reflected in its Grade 1 listing.
We are seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to manage all aspects of estate and facilities services in its North Wing on The Strand, including the Courtauld Gallery and the nearby student accommodation.
Responsibilities include: maintenance, security, procurement, health and safety, student accommodation, cleaning, environment issues and control of the associated budgets. You will manage a small Facilities team and ensure that externally contracted and internally provided services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
You will have knowledge of estate and facilities issues, ideally in listed buildings, have significant experience and knowledge of people and financial management, and excellent written and oral communication skills. You will have good organisational and project management skills, be flexible in your approach and be able to undertake manual lifting on a regular basis. Good IT skills are also required.
