Since the last newsletter we have said a sad goodbye to a number of staff at the Institute. We all offer our very best wishes and thanks for their contributions to the Institute to Michael Arthur, Secretary and Registrar, to Tim Davies, Book Librarian, to Ghislaine Kenyon, Head of the Joint Education Department, and to Andrew Penman, Deputy Academic Registrar. Our warm thanks are also due to Dr Rose Walker, Deputy Secretary and Academic Registrar, who formally retired from her post at the end of March. Rose came to the Institute as Assistant Registrar in 1990, became Academic Registrar in the mid-1990s as the duties of that role expanded significantly with changes in the management of higher education, and additionally took on the role of Deputy Secretary in 2003. She played a significant part in the complex transition to self-governing status, and has been a key member of the Institute’s senior team, while still maintaining her academic work. We are delighted that she will continue to be involved with the Courtauld as a consultant, whilst also working on a book on Spanish medieval art.
